About K-9 For Love Inc.
K-9 For Love Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-for profit dog rescue organization which was established in December of 2005. It was formed by a group of individuals concerned for the growing number of dogs being abused, mistreated, abandoned, or killed. The dogs we take in are strays, abused or abandoned, homeless, and/or dogs that were going to be euthanized. We also take in dogs from private owners who can no longer keep them for different reasons. We mainly operate in the Redlands/Homestead area due to the extreme amount of abandoned dogs in this part of Miami-Dade County. Any dog that comes into our organization receives necessary veterinary care, spay-neuter services and whatever rehabilitation or socialization may be needed before heading for their new home. Foster care for a dog can range from a minimum of 2 weeks to many months, depending on the dog. We are in the process of MOVING OUR TEMPORARY SHELTER facility, but in the meantime our dogs are in-house or in foster care.
Our mission
To rescue and supply homeless or unwanted dogs, regardless of age or breed, with love, shelter, food, veterinarian or medical attention, spay-neuter services, and potential permanent homes with a secure loving environment. Our mail goal is also to teach our community about the risk of not neutering or spaying a pet, and to provide them the right tools and knowledge to become great and responsible pet owners.
